Job Title: 2ND SHIFT - Forklift Operator

Job Description

This role operates a variety of forklifts and powered industrial vehicles to move products safely and efficiently throughout a warehouse environment. You will handle loading and unloading, support shipping and receiving activities, and help maintain accurate inventory and organized storage areas while following all safety procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Operate multiple types of forklifts, including sit-down, stand-up, reach truck, cherry picker, clamp truck, and other powered industrial vehicles to move products throughout the facility.
  • Load, unload, move, and stack products safely using forklifts and other material handling equipment.
  • Perform order picking activities accurately and efficiently, including working at heights when required.
  • Use RF scanners and related systems to ensure accurate inventory tracking and data entry.
  • Maintain proper stock arrangement and organized warehouse storage areas to support efficient operations.
  • Support shipping and receiving processes by handling inbound and outbound product movement.
  • Conduct daily equipment inspections to ensure forklifts and other equipment operate safely and efficiently.
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures, including safe driving practices and proper use of equipment.
  • Participate in cross-training to learn and operate all types of forklifts used in the facility.

Essential Skills

  • At least 1 year of experience operating forklifts.
  • Proven experience operating sit-down forklifts.
  • Proven experience operating stand-up forklifts.
  • Experience operating reach trucks.
  • Experience operating cherry pickers.
  • Experience operating clamp forklifts.
  • Hands-on material handling experience in a warehouse or similar environment.
  • Order picking experience, including working at heights.
  • Ability to use RF scanners for inventory and picking tasks.
  • Experience with shipping and receiving processes.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Willingness to cross train and learn all types of forklifts used in the facility.
  • Ability to work safely in a non-climate-controlled warehouse environment.

  • Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate inventory tracking and stock placement.
  • Ability to organize and maintain warehouse storage areas for efficient product flow.
  • Comfort working at heights while using equipment such as cherry pickers or high-reach trucks.
  • Commitment to following safety procedures and completing daily equipment inspections.
  • Willingness to adapt to different forklift types and changing operational needs.

Work Environment

You will work in a non-climate-controlled warehouse equipped with overhead fans. You will regularly use RF scanners and other warehouse technology for inventory and order picking. The position requires comfort working at heights and in a physically active environment where safety, awareness, and adherence to procedures are essential.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of St. Peters, MO.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
