Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A contract opportunity is available for a skilled Sign Language Interpreter specializing in telehealth services within a school setting. This role is based in West Valley City, UT, and operates under a 1099 contract arrangement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Facilitate clear and accurate communication between deaf or hard-of-hearing students and educators during telehealth sessions.
• Interpret spoken language into sign language and vice versa, ensuring effective remote communication.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals and school staff to support student needs in virtual environments.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all relevant privacy regulations.
• Document and report interpreting sessions as required.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with strong telehealth interpreting experience.
• Familiarity with educational environments and terminology.
• Ability to manage technology platforms used for remote interpreting.
• Excellent communication skills and cultural sensitivity to the needs of deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals.
• Previous experience working under a contract or 1099 arrangement preferred.
