Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated nursing professional to provide direct care in environments where patients require intricate assessments and interventions, adhering to the established policies, procedures, and protocols of our organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather comprehensive information from patients, families, and other healthcare professionals to create a holistic understanding of the patient's needs or condition.
- Analyze and synthesize assessment data to determine relevant diagnoses or conditions for care.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and the interprofessional team to identify optimal outcomes.
- Formulate a care plan that outlines strategies and alternatives to achieve desired outcomes, utilizing clinical judgment in partnership with patients and the care team.
- Execute the care plan, ensuring a safe environment and coordinating efforts with patients and the interprofessional team.
- Assess processes and progress towards achieving goals and outcomes.
- Enhance the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice, regularly evaluating personal performance and staying updated on knowledge and skills.
- Communicate effectively across all areas of practice, fostering collaboration with patients, families, and the care team.
- Utilize clinical inquiry and integrate the best available evidence into practice.
- Apply evidence-based practices and scientific knowledge in critical care nursing, ensuring care is tailored to the patient's age-specific and clinical needs as outlined in the department's Scope of Service.
- Maintain a constant state of alertness and safety.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Education: Graduate from an accredited nursing program or equivalent educational background for licensing.
- Experience: No prior experience is necessary.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent verbal communication to convey information.
- Regular standing and walking.
- Occasional lifting, carrying, and pushing/pulling objects weighing between 0-25 lbs.
- Frequent sitting, reaching, and data entry.
- Regular use of vision for near and far distances, as well as color differentiation.
- Frequent olfactory and auditory skills to detect odors and receive verbal communication.
- Occasional lifting of objects weighing 25-50 lbs and moving patients.
- Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, and other physical movements.
- Rarely required to crawl or run.
Licensure and Certifications
Applicants must hold the following certifications based on their state of work location:
- Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA)
- Registered Nurse (RN) - State-specific licensing body
- Advanced Life Support (ALS) - American Heart Association (AHA)
- Other certifications such as Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), or Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) may also be required based on specific state regulations.
Work Schedule
This position requires night shifts.
