Training Coordinator / Manufacturing Specialist – Training, Digital Systems, and Continuous Improvement

Role Summary

The Training Coordinator / Manufacturing Specialist is responsible for creating, delivering, monitoring, and improving manufacturing and distribution training programs and systems that meet all applicable regulatory standards (FDA, OSHA, etc.). This role also serves as the plant lead for digital signage, technology advancement, and visual management tools.

Key Responsibilities

Promote and maintain a strong safety culture, supporting all plant safety policies and procedures consistently and fairly.
Conduct training needs analyses at the plant, department, and job-specific levels to build comprehensive training and certification programs that meet employee, organizational, and regulatory requirements.
• Partner with subject matter experts to develop curriculum, materials, and methods for effective training delivery.
• Ensure training programs are current, implemented in a timely manner, and fully compliant with regulatory standards.
• Develop tools to assess, monitor, and validate training effectiveness.
• Maintain plant compliance with all federal, state, and company training standards.
• Manage and maintain a training materials library and develop external training partnerships.
• Coordinate, schedule, and deliver both internal and external training programs.
• Maintain complete training documentation, records, and files (electronic and manual).
• Serve as the primary contact for training-related information during inspections, audits, and regulatory reviews.
• Facilitate the undergraduate internship program at the site.
• Manage all aspects of state training grant programs, from application to reimbursement.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with supervisors and managers to identify training needs and maintain accurate records.
• Act as System Administrator for learning and digital tools, including but not limited to POKA and SABA.
• Lead the development and maintenance of in-plant visual management tools using Power BI, including design, integration, and upkeep of hardware/software.
• Support the Lean/Continuous Improvement team as needed.
• Assist with developing and enhancing the new hire onboarding process.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field required.
• 1–3 years of training management experience in a fast-paced, FDA-regulated manufacturing and distribution environment.
• Prior experience with electronic learning management systems (e.g., SABA LMS).
• Experience in a Lean/Continuous Improvement environment preferred.
• TWI Master Trainer Certification (or ability to obtain).
• Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification (or ability to obtain).

• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships across all levels of the organization.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to clearly communicate and assist with rollout of new applications (BI Reporting, Visual Management).
• Highly organized with excellent time management and attention to detail.
• Strong customer-service orientation and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality in all situations.
• Experience collaborating with educational institutions and local/state development organizations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other Windows-based applications.
