A Speech Language Pathologist opportunity is available in Gainesville, FL at a 90-bed acute care hospital opening Spring 2026, featuring comprehensive emergency services, advanced surgical care, and a dedicated 30-bed inpatient rehabilitation unit.
The role. The SLP works as part of a collaborative inpatient rehabilitation team, partnering closely with physicians, nursing, care managers, and fellow rehabilitation staff to support coordinated care and smooth patient transitions. Clinical work centers on evaluating communication, cognitive, and swallowing abilities through structured assessments, standardized tools, and direct observation, then developing and adjusting individualized treatment plans aimed at improving communication clarity, safe swallowing, and functional independence. The position carries responsibility for thorough, timely documentation across evaluations, daily notes, progress updates, and discharge summaries, as well as educating patients and families on therapy goals, swallowing safety, home strategies, and anticipated progress.
What we're looking for.
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- State of Florida Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) license, active and in good standing
- Minimum 1 year of Speech Language Pathologist experience required
- Modified Barium Swallow Study (MBS) testing experience strongly preferred
- Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES) testing experience strongly preferred
Schedule. Days with rotating weekends, core hours 7:30 a.m.–4:00 p.m., with staggered scheduling based on unit needs.
