A challenging opportunity is available for an experienced RN with strong Med/Surg and telemetry skills to support a Neuro Cardiac Unit in Indianas vibrant Chandler area. This 13-week contract role offers a chance to care for complex patients recovering from cardiac interventions, cerebrovascular events, and intricate surgeries in a dynamic, teaching hospital environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide expert nursing care to complex Med/Surg/Tele patients, including post-cardiac catheterizations, CVA/TIA, ICD management, oncology, and post-craniotomy care.
• Perform advanced neuro assessments including NIHSS and dysphagia screening.
• Interpret Telemetry and 12-lead EKGs with proficiency (travelers must pass Tele testing).
• Initiate and titrate drips such as insulin, cardiac medications, and heparin.
• Manage heart catheterization recovery with femoral and TR band care.
• Potentially float within skillset to other nearby campuses with appropriate notice.
• Support unit functions through diligent charting using EPIC and collaborate closely with charge nurses and support staff.
• May participate in precepting of students and new hires.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Active compact RN license.
• Current AHA BLS and NIHSS certifications.
• Minimum two years of strong telemetry/Med-Surg experience, including at least one travel assignment.
• Trauma Level II experience preferred.
• Recent EPIC experience required.
• Charge nurse experience preferred.
• Strong critical thinking, assessment skills, and resilience in a fast-paced setting.

Schedule & Location:

• 12-hour night shifts, 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM.
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week; 48 hours possible upon request.
• Weekend coverage approximately three weekends every six weeks.
• Located in Chandler, IN, near multiple campus sites within a short commute.

• 32-bed Neuro Cardiac Unit.
• Collaborative staff focused on knowledge sharing, proactive leadership, and exemplary patient care.
• Navy blue scrubs required, free of competing logos.
• Covid-19 vaccine currently not mandated (subject to change).
