Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A full-time Special Education Teacher opportunity is available in Westerly, RI, focused on supporting middle school students in a resource classroom setting. This role involves providing tailored educational support to students with diverse learning needs, ensuring their progress within an inclusive and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students on your caseload
- Deliver specialized instruction and support to middle school students with disabilities in a resource classroom
- Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and support staff to monitor student progress and adjust strategies accordingly
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to student performance and IEP goals
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning and development
Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification
- Experience working with middle school-aged students in a special education resource setting preferred
- Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
