The Psychiatric Attendant would be working for a state facility and has career growth potential. This is a full-time, 40+ hour per week position.

Psychiatric Attendant Compensation

• The pay for this position is $23 per hour
• Benefits are available to full-time employees after 90 days of employment
• A 401(k) with a company match is available for full-time employees with 1 year of service on our eligibility dates

Psychiatric Attendant Highlights

• This position is a contract assignment with potential for permanent hire based on attendance, performance, and business needs
• Schedule is lightly flexible: 10 AM–6 PM or 11 AM–7 PM
• Work may include weekends and holidays

Psychiatric Attendant Responsibilities

• Provide on-ward security and supervision of forensic patients
• Escort patients to and from meals, appointments, and therapeutic activities
• Observe, monitor, and document patient behavior
• Intervene during crisis behavior to prevent injury, including assisting with restraints or seclusion as needed
• Conduct one-on-one sessions with patients regarding concerns or treatment needs
• Assist with daily living care such as hygiene, grooming, clothing care, and room maintenance
• Assist nursing staff with treatments as directed
• Lead or support recreational activities
• Perform general housekeeping tasks to maintain a sanitary environment
• Prepare reports and documentation including progress notes, incident reports, and movement logs
• Participate in staff meetings, interdisciplinary team meetings, and required in-service training
• Respond to emergencies such as fires, riots, or crisis situations

Psychiatric Attendant Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• CPR certification
• Ability to recognize unusual or threatening conditions and respond appropriately
• Ability to work in an environment with unpredictable patient behavior
• Attendance is mandatory for the first 90 days
