Special Education Teacher
About the Role:
Heartland School of Omaha is a Special Education Service Provider that contracts with the surrounding Districts to support their Special Education Students with social and emotional needs.
Are you ready to make a profound impact on the lives of students with unique learning needs? Our team is seeking a dedicated, compassionate Special Education Teacher to design and implement individualized instruction for students with diverse learning needs. You will manage IEP's, collaborate with families, and foster an inclusive, supportive classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Average case load is 12 students.
- Adapt lesson plans to meet various learning styles and abilities.
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records.
- Collaborate with parents, specialists, and school staff.
Qualification:
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field or willingness to obtain a degree in Special
Education.
- Valid State Teaching Certification in Special Education.
- Strong communication and behavioral management skills.

With an average enrollment of 40 students Heartland School is able to attend to students in a therapeutic and enriching environment that encourages, sanctions, and allocates time for teachers and staff to get to know each of the students, their needs, how to assist them, and how to overcome deficits and capitalize on their strengths.
There is the time to work with the students. There is time to work with the parents and guardians without extracurricular expectations and large class sizes to contend with.
Generally, issues can be addressed quicker, plans can be arranged and services can be offered all in the hopes of returning the students back to the regular home school environment.
