Valens is looking to hire a mission-orientedmanagerfor teams supportingclients in the national security space.As a vital partner,Valens servesa wide range of private and public sectorclients with strategic and operationaldeliverablesonavariety of complex issues.Managersdeliver high-quality, client-focused work during all phases of analytical production.Theydemonstratea strongcommand of analytical methods and substantive issues, deliver insightful products that require minimal editing, and generate innovative solutions to analytic challenges.Theyalsooverseethesuccessofthe projects and teams they manage.Through logistical and analytical oversight, theyskillfully balance risks and opportunities based on guidance from leadership, including financialobjectives, client and stakeholder relationships, analytical quality standards, and team performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and lead an analytical unit such as a practice group or large project
  • Oversee the performance and workflow of subordinates including analysts, experts, and other support personnel
  • Monitor and assess project resources, risks, and opportunities related to financial objectives, client relationships, and analytical quality delivery
  • Build and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders and clients
  • Develop and employ advanced research methods and analytic tradecraft to deliver impactful and original insights on complex topics
  • Produce sharply focused and well-framed written analytic products and oral briefings tailored to the unique interests and mission of the client
  • Model high standards and attention to detail in every aspect of production, including administrative work
  • Balance command and humility in front of clients and external partners to drive collaborative discussions
  • Employ collaboration and draw on the skills and experience of other analysts to enhance product quality
  • Review products to provide key insight and feedback that improves the product and helps fellow analysts develop their skills
  • Serve as a resource for the analysis department in areas of specialty


Minimum Qualifications:

  • U.S. citizenship
  • Bachelors degree +4 years of work experience in the national security field
  • Experience managing,leading, ormentoringteams
  • Proventrack recordof consistently providing exceptional analytic work to clients
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills and attention to detail
  • Demonstratedorganizational skillsandsystems thinking capability
  • Proventrack recordofmaintainingcommand of many details andlogisticsat once
  • Eligibility for securityclearance


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working as an intelligence analyst within the U.S. government, special operations, or supporting U.S. government contracts.
  • Experience supporting strategic level, all source predictive intelligence.
  • Experienceapplyingnew technologiesto analytical and administrative workflow.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Top Secret (TS) Security Clearance
