A full-time Speech Language Pathologist opportunity is available at an elementary school in Chesapeake, VA, focused on serving students with diverse speech and language needs, including those with severe behavioral disorders. The role involves working within a collaborative, team-oriented environment supported by a strong network of support staff. This contract position spans the school year.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide speech and language therapy to elementary students in a range of settings from functional to inclusion classrooms.
- Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and parents to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Monitor student progress and adjust therapy strategies as needed.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to a positive, supportive educational atmosphere.
Qualifications:
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech-Language Pathology.
- Experience in pediatric speech therapy and school-based settings.
- Valid Virginia SLP license or licensure pending activation by the start of the school year.
- Experience working with students exhibiting severe behavior disorders preferred.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
