Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated Audiologist who will be responsible for evaluating and interpreting neurophysiologic testing and ENG evaluations of patients, and suggesting treatment programs for patients with balance disorders in a busy Neurology practice. Part time work possibly via remote access.

What You’ll Do

  • Conduct comprehensive audiological evaluations, including pure-tone audiometry, tympanometry, otoacoustic emissions, and speech testing.
  • Assess, diagnose, and treat auditory and vestibular disorders in patients of all ages.
  • Recommend, fit, program, and troubleshoot hearing aids and assistive listening devices.
  • Provide counseling and education to patients and families regarding hearing loss, device use, and communication strategies.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough documentation in the patient chart/EMR.
  • Collaborate with physicians, clinical staff, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
  • Prepare exam rooms, calibrate and maintain audiology equipment, and ensure compliance with OSHA and industry standards.
  • Review and interpret test results, ensuring all diagnostic data is completed and available for patient visits.
  • Support in scheduling follow-up appointments and facilitating referrals as needed.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to maintain required certifications and stay current on advancements in audiology.
  • Attend required meetings and participate in committees as requested.
  • Maintain knowledge of and adhere to all Federal, State, and Local regulations, as well as organizational policies.
  • Perform all duties in compliance with safety standards and infection control guidelines.
  • All other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Need:Minimum Education:

  • Master's or doctorate degree in Audiology

Licensure / Certifications:

  • Current Michigan Audiology License
  • Certification of Clinical Competence in Audiology from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association or a Statement of Equivalence, as mandated by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Hospitals

Minimum Work Experience:

  • Clinical audiology experience preferred; new graduates will be considered.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Diagnostic and rehabilitative audiology procedures and equipment.
  • Fitting, verification, and counseling.
  • Vestibular assessment best practices.
  • Documentation, EMR systems, and reporting test results clearly and accurately.
  • Effective communication with patients, caregivers, and healthcare team members.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a patient caseload efficiently.
  • Ability to remain calm and effective in emergent or high-pressure situations.
  • Excellent customer service, professionalism, and patient-focused interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret written instructions, clinical data, and procedure manuals.

  • Write routine reports and patient documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff.

Physical Requirements

  • Full range of motion including standing, sitting, bending, and walking.
  • Manual dexterity and hand–eye coordination required to operate audiology equipment.
  • Corrected hearing and vision within normal range to perform essential testing.
  • Ability to lift and carry items up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to work under occasional stress and adapt to irregular hours.
  • Some exposure to communicable diseases, bodily fluids, and clinical environments.

Workplace Environment

  • Work performed in a clinical office environment with varying noise levels.
  • Exposure to diagnostic equipment, potentially hazardous materials, and patient care settings.
  • Requires interaction with patients of varying ages and conditions.
