Nurse Practitioner Needed at Madigan Army Medical Center
Background: The Nurse Practitioner (NP) shall provide comprehensive primary and specialty healthcare services to active-duty military personnel, retirees, and eligible family members at Madigan Army Medical Center. The NP shall independently evaluate, diagnose, and treat a wide variety of medical conditions, collaborating with other healthcare professionals and military staff as necessary.
Place of Performance: Madigan Army Medical Center (MAMC), Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Tacoma, Washington
Period of Performance: 1 year base period with 4 option years to follow
Schedule: 40-Hours per week, with no holidays or weekends. Work hours will normally be between 07:00-16:00 with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break.
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
- Current, unrestricted license to practice as an NP in any U.S. state, territory, or the District of Columbia.
- National certification from AANP or ANCC in a relevant specialty.
- BLS certification (American Heart Association).
- Valid DEA Registration.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience providing NP services in family medicine, internal medicine, or similar setting.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to pass a background investigation and credentialing process at MAMC.
Duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Conduct patient assessments, order diagnostic tests, and develop treatment plans.
- Diagnose and manage acute and chronic medical conditions.
- Prescribe medications in accordance with federal and facility policies.
- Document all care provided in the electronic health record (e.g., MHS GENESIS).
- Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and support staff to coordinate care.
- Educate patients on treatment plans, health promotion, and disease prevention.
- Participate in quality assurance, compliance reviews, and required trainings.
