Summary
We are seeking a caring and responsible Afternoon Floating Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate enjoys working with children, has strong communication skills, and can create a fun, organized, and inclusive environment for students during after-school hours.
Schedule:
Monday–Friday 11am - 6pm.
Some flexibility and availability for teacher professional development days is preferred.
Duties
- Supervise and engage children ages 3 to 6 years old in a safe and supportive manner
- Plan and facilitate age-appropriate activities, games, crafts, and learning experiences
- Provide homework help and encourage positive social interactions
- Monitor attendance and ensure children are signed in/out properly
- Communicate effectively with parents and team members
- Maintain a clean, organized space and support daily routines and safety procedures
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED (some college or early childhood education coursework preferred)
- Previous experience working with children in a group setting (aftercare, camp, classroom, etc.)
- Energetic, patient, and dependable
- Ability to manage small groups of children with enthusiasm and structure
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
