Step into a fulfilling contract opportunity as a Special Education Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year, supporting students with Developmental Cognitive Disabilities (DCD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in a Setting 3 classroom. Located near Minneapolis, this full-time, 37.5-hour-per-week role allows you to make a lasting impact in a single building, working closely with a small group of 6-10 incredible students. This position is ideal for dynamic educators eager to provide tailored instruction and meaningful support.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching license (Tier 3 or Tier 4) with ASD or DCD endorsement required.
- Demonstrated experience in DCD or ASD classroom environments.
- Strong understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs), accommodations, and modifications for students with cognitive and behavioral needs.
- Commitment to collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, families, and paraprofessionals.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, implement, and adapt instructional strategies to foster student growth in cognitive, social, and emotional domains.
- Develop and monitor IEP goals in compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Create a safe, structured, and nurturing classroom atmosphere that supports adaptive behavior and academic achievement.
- Utilize data-driven decision-making and evidence-based practices for students with significant needs.
- Foster positive relationships with students, families, and staff to enhance the learning environment.
- Attend and contribute to team meetings, professional development sessions, and conferences as required.
