Job DescriptionPosition Overview
Our organization is in search of a Section Chief for Imaging Informatics within the Radiology Service. This department, located at the Phoenix VA Health Care System (PVAHCS) Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona, delivers a range of Radiology subspecialty services, including inpatient, outpatient, and emergency care to Veterans throughout central Arizona.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the enterprise-wide PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System) operations.
- Supervise staff dedicated to PACS operations, ensuring efficient digital image sharing between PVAHCS and Community Care partners.
- Oversee the Radiology Service, one of the largest clinical departments at PVAHCS, which comprises over 130 employees across nine specialty divisions, including:
- Staff Radiology
- Vascular and Interventional Radiology Services
- CT Services
- Nuclear Medicine Services
- Ultrasound Services
- Breast Imaging Services
- Diagnostic Radiology
- MRI Services
- Clerical Services
- Ensure compliance with standards and regulations, as well as quality monitoring and maintenance across divisions.
- Provide subspecialty and general radiology coverage, with a preference for candidates specializing in Neuroradiology or Musculoskeletal (MSK) radiology.
Work Schedule
Monday to Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary: Competitive annual salary of up to $400,000, along with an annual performance bonus and regular salary increases.
- Sign-on Bonus: Up to 25% of your annual salary.

Employment Requirements
- A Doctor of Medicine degree or an equivalent qualification in medicine or osteopathic medicine.
- Possession of one full and unrestricted medical license from any U.S. state or territory, which must remain current and active.
- U.S. citizenship is required; non-citizens may only be appointed if qualified citizens cannot be recruited, in accordance with VA policy.
