Staff Accountant, Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
Minimum Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Management, Computer Science, Engineering, or another related field.
- Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license required.
- At least 4 years of experience

Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail‐oriented Certified Public Accountant (CPA) to join our team with four or more years of experience. The CPA will be responsible for executing financial reporting, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, conducting internal audits, and providing financial insights that support sound decision‐making for one of our government clients. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong analytical abilities, exceptional attention to detail, and a commitment to accuracy and integrity.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, examine, and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and adherence to Federal Accounting standards.
- Maintain general ledger accounts, reconciliations, and month‐end close processes.
- Prepare federal, state, and local tax returns; ensure ongoing tax compliance.
- Conduct internal audits and support external audit processes.
- Provide financial recommendations based on research and data analysis.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
- Monitor accounting processes to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies, regulations, and internal controls.
- Communicate financial information clearly to internal stakeholders.
- Stay current on trends, regulatory changes, and emerging accounting standards.
Required Qualifications
- Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and regulatory reporting standards.
- Proficiency in software (e.g., Oracle) and Excel.
- Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem‐solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in public accounting or audit.
- Master’s degree in Accounting or related field.
- Knowledge of industry‐specific accounting practices.
