Position Summary
Mary’s Woods is seeking a skilled and motivated Lead Cook to support kitchen operations and deliver exceptional dining experiences. In collaboration with the kitchen management team, this role oversees food preparation, ensures quality and consistency, supports staff coordination, and maintains a clean, safe, and efficient kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Support kitchen leadership in overseeing daily food production, including grilling, frying, sautéing, and other cooking methods
- Ensure all food stations and equipment are clean, functional, and service-ready
- Assist in coordinating staff schedules and break rotations
- Participate in production meetings, trainings, and team meetings
- Monitor food quality, consistency, and adherence to recipes and standards
- Collaborate with team members to maintain efficient communication during meal service and events
- Assist with inventory tracking, ordering supplies, and receiving deliveries
- Help develop menus, recipes, and operational procedures
- Maintain compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards
- Promote a positive dining experience for residents and guests
Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma or GED (or equivalent experience)
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and multitasking skills
- Commitment to teamwork and excellent customer service
- Current Food Handler’s Card (or ability to obtain)
Preferred:
- Minimum of 3 years of cooking experience in a high-quality food service environment

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift (up to 40 lbs) for extended periods
- Work in indoor and outdoor environments with varying temperatures
- Exposure to kitchen equipment and standard food service hazards
- Must follow all safety, infection control, and HIPAA guidelines
