Job Title: Interventional Radiology Practice Manager

Location: Northeast Florida

Job Type: Full-Time

Reports to: Director of Radiology / Executive Director / Physician Group Leadership


Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Practice Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our Interventional Radiology (IR) department located in Northeast Florida. The Practice Manager will be responsible for managing clinical and administrative staff, optimizing workflow efficiency, ensuring regulatory compliance, supporting provider productivity, and enhancing patient experience in a dynamic, high-acuity medical specialty.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Management
  • Oversee daily operations of the IR department, including scheduling, patient flow, staffing, and resource allocation.
  • Coordinate with radiologists, technologists, nursing staff, and administrative personnel to ensure smooth clinical operations.
  • Monitor procedural volume, physician schedules, and optimize throughput.
  • Financial Oversight
  • Manage budgets, financial reporting, and forecasting for the IR department.
  • Collaborate with billing and coding departments to ensure accurate charge capture and timely reimbursement.
  • Analyze financial performance and implement cost-control strategies.
  • Staff Management & Development
  • Hire, train, and supervise clinical and administrative staff.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and implement staff development initiatives.
  • Ensure adequate staffing levels for procedures and recovery areas.
  • Regulatory & Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations (including Joint Commission, AHCA, HIPAA, etc.).
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of interventional radiology procedures, documentation standards, and accreditation requirements.
  • Patient Experience & Quality
  • Monitor and improve patient satisfaction through workflow improvements and service excellence.
  • Implement and track quality assurance and performance improvement (QAPI) initiatives.
  • Facilitate communication between patients, families, and care teams.
  • Collaboration & Strategic Planning
  • Partner with executive leadership on strategic initiatives, service line growth, and new procedure implementation.
  • Collaborate with marketing and referral teams to enhance community awareness and physician engagement.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field required (Master’s preferred).
  • Minimum 3–5 years of management experience in radiology, interventional radiology, or hospital operations.
  • Strong understanding of IR procedures, equipment, and patient care workflows. (Not required)
  • Knowledge of CPT coding, billing practices, and revenue cycle operations in IR.
  • Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Experience with EMR/EHR systems (Epic, Cerner, or similar) and radiology information systems (RIS/PACS).
  • Familiarity with Florida-specific healthcare regulations and payor environments is a plus.


Preferred Skills & Attributes:

  • Certified Radiology Administrator (CRA), RHIA, or similar certification.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive leadership style.
  • Local or regional experience in the Northeast Florida healthcare market is highly desirable.


Work Environment:

  • Location: Based in a hospital, outpatient IR suite, or multi-specialty medical group setting in Jacksonville, St. Augustine, or surrounding areas.
  • Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday, with occasional after-hours responsibilities.
  • Travel: Minimal; occasional travel between affiliated sites or partner hospitals in Northeast Florida.
