Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A full-time Special Education Teacher position is available in the Deerfield/Pembroke area, covering a maternity leave from ASAP until the end of the school year. This role focuses on supporting 8th grade students with mild disabilities, including Specific Learning Disabilities (SLD) and Other Health Impairments (OHI), with no behavioral concerns in the caseload.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction tailored to 16 8th grade students with mild disabilities
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students with SLD and OHI
- Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to promote student success
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting teaching strategies as needed
- Maintain a positive, inclusive classroom environment that meets all regulatory and school guidelines
Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teaching Certification
- Experience working with students with Specific Learning Disabilities and Other Health Impairments
- Ability to manage a caseload of up to 16 students effectively
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ready to step in immediately and work through the end of the school year
Work Schedule:
- Full-time, Monday through Friday
- Hours: 7:35 AM to 2:55 PM
