Minimum 1+ years Paraprofessional or Special Education experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A full-time paraprofessional position is available supporting one student with a special education caseload in a school setting. This role is ideal for individuals experienced in working with students in various grade levels, including K–5, 6–8, and 9–12, providing 1:1 support in a pediatric educational environment. The position is located in Lees Summit, MO, and operates on a contract basis from ASAP through June 5, 2026.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 instructional and behavioral support to a student with special education needs
- Assist in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Collaborate with teachers and other education professionals to support student learning
- Manage classroom behavior and help maintain a positive learning environment
- Support academic and social development tailored to student needs
Qualifications:
- Experience working as a paraprofessional, substitute teacher, or in a similar educational role
- Ability to support students in grades K–12, with expertise in special education and 1:1 assistance
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience and a nurturing approach in working with pediatric students
Work Schedule and Environment:
- Full-time contract: 30 hours per week, including one 15-minute break and a 30-minute unpaid lunch
- School environment located in Lees Summit, MO
- Assignment duration through June 5, 2026
