Torus Outage Services Supervisor
Job Summary:
The Outage Services Supervisor is responsible for leading and executing all fleet reactor services activities at our Plant's two Units before, during, and after refueling outages. This role directly oversees union craft reactor technicians, shared resources, and vendors, as assigned by the Site Outage Services Manager. With a focus on operational excellence, this position is pivotal in reducing outage durations, driving cost efficiency, and ensuring fleet-wide standardization. The ideal candidate is a self-starter requiring minimal oversight and is accountable for ensuring all team milestones are met.
This position reports directly to the Site Outage Services Manager, with a dotted-line reporting structure to leadership in Birmingham.
Key Responsibilities:

Ensure all outage activities align with standards and established procedures.

Supervise reactor vessel disassembly/reassembly and oversee general refuel floor activities.

Oversee fuel movement, fuel inspections, and spent fuel pool activities, including re-racks and legacy clean-up.

Manage readiness of refueling tools and plant equipment.

Provide oversight for Dry Cask Storage operations.

Lead continuous improvement efforts, including equipment upgrades, life cycle strategies, and process enhancements.

Execute pre-outage planning tasks, including work order reviews, site walkdowns, procedure updates, tooling checks, inventory validation, PO issuance, and FME planning.

Provide oversight of lifting and rigging activities.

Manage steam generator (SG) project scope at Vogtle 3&4 and support SG/RCP scopes at other fleet sites.

Coordinate multidisciplinary teams including planning, maintenance, operations, RP, engineering, and security to ensure seamless execution of outage schedules.

Participate in and support at least one offsite refueling outage per year for benchmarking and project support.

Present updates and strategic plans to the Site Leadership Team and fleet leaders during key outage meetings (WOM, T-3, T-2, T+1, etc.).

Manage additional scopes of work as directed by the Site Outage Services Manager.
Job Requirements:
-
Minimum 5 years of experience in a commercial nuclear plant.

Prior supervisory or project management experience in nuclear power (preferred).

Experience managing craft personnel in a commercial setting (preferred).

Working knowledge of RCPs, steam generators, dry cask storage, and refueling operations (preferred).

Skilled in crane operation oversight (overhead and JIB).
-
Advanced or Master Rigger certification, or ability to obtain.

Prior involvement with nuclear refueling teams (preferred).

Proficiency in Maximo, P6, D2, and other related applications (preferred).

Strong leadership, verbal, and written communication skills.

Comfortable working in radiologically controlled areas.

Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
