Job Description\n
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position in an acute care setting requiring a UT or compact RN license and current specialty certifications.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
- Work in an acute care hospital on a Labor & Delivery unit
- Care for patients across Labor, Delivery, Postpartum, and Recovery
- High delivery volume with staff responsible for the transition of newborns
- 12-hour night shifts from 1800 to 0630 with every other weekend required
- Uses EPIC electronic medical record system
- RNs are expected to provide comprehensive care to both mothers and newborns throughout the childbirth process
- Orientation includes 12 hours and may assess sterile technique competency related to Foley catheter and central line dressing changes depending on facility location
- Candidates must not have been employed by related health systems in the past year, unless through an outside firm in a PRN capacity
- Travelers are expected to float within the zone hired if applicable; suitable housing must be arranged to meet floating requirements
- Scrub attire is required while working on the unit
- Mentorship is available for new grads on night shift
- Passing facility-specific clinical competency exams may be required at orientation

- Active UT or compact RN license; pending licenses are not accepted
- Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery experience, preferably at a high-volume facility
- Current certifications in BLS (AHA), ACLS, NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), STABLE, and AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring
- Ability to transition and provide care to mothers and newborns from labor to recovery
- Two professional references required: one supervisor from the past 12 months, and one peer or supervisor from the past 3 years
- Copy of driver’s license required for consideration
