Job Description

The Field Operations Working Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily janitorial operations while actively performing cleaning duties alongside assigned staff. This position ensures all custodial services are delivered in full compliance with contract requirements, safety regulations, and quality standards, particularly within federal and secured facilities.

Primary Responsibilities

- Perform routine janitorial and custodial duties, including floor care, restroom sanitation, trash removal, dusting, and disinfecting of high-touch areas.
- Supervise, train, and support janitorial staff to ensure proper cleaning methods, use of equipment, and compliance with safety protocols.
- Serve as the on-site point of contact for the Contracting Officer, COR, or facility representatives.
- Ensure all cleaning services meet the Performance Work Statement (PWS), Statement of Work (SOW), and inspection standards.
- Conduct daily inspections of assigned areas and immediately correct deficiencies.
- Maintain cleaning schedules, checklists, and work logs.
- Ensure proper use, storage, and inventory of cleaning supplies, chemicals, and equipment in accordance with Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and OSHA standards.
- Enforce compliance with safety, security, and access requirements, including badge/PIV procedures where applicable.
- Coordinate staffing coverage, address absences, and assist with workload redistribution as needed.
- Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, or security concerns to the appropriate authority promptly.
- Assist management with performance evaluations, corrective actions, and employee coaching when necessary.
- Ensure all employees adhere to company policies, federal regulations, and site-specific rules.
- Support emergency response procedures, including spill response and after-hours cleaning requests.

Administrative Duties

- Maintain accurate employee attendance and timekeeping records.
- Submit daily or weekly status reports as required by management or the client.
- Assist with onboarding and training documentation for new employees.
- Support invoicing and compliance documentation by maintaining accurate service records.

Qualifications

- Minimum of 2–3 years of janitorial or custodial experience, with supervisory experience preferred.
- Experience working in federal, government, or secure facilities is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of cleaning methods, equipment, chemicals, and safety standards.
- Ability to lead by example and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to pass background checks and security clearance requirements as applicable.

Physical Requirements

- Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 40–50 pounds.
- Capable of operating janitorial equipment such as vacuums, floor buffers, and extractors.

Work Environment

- Indoor office buildings, training centers, or federal facilities.
- May require after-hours, early morning, or weekend work depending on contract requirements.

Candidate Skills

- Demonstrated ability to perform hands-on janitorial and custodial services while providing on-site supervision in a federal facility.
- Proven leadership skills managing custodial staff in compliance with federal contract requirements and Statements of Work (SOW).
- Thorough knowledge of janitorial cleaning methods, equipment, and materials appropriate for federal facilities.
- Experience training, onboarding, and mentoring employees in accordance with contract specifications and safety standards.
- Strong quality control skills to ensure services meet or exceed federal performance standards.
- Working knowledge of OSHA regulations, SDS requirements, and safe handling of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Ability to enforce company policies, labor standards, and federal compliance requirements.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for interaction with management.
- Ability to conduct inspections, document deficiencies, and implement corrective actions in a timely manner.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills to manage schedules, coverage, and workload efficiently.
- Experience overseeing attendance, timekeeping, and shift coordination in a regulated environment.
- Problem-solving skills with the ability to respond promptly to operational issues or emergency service requests.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining accountability.
- Basic computer proficiency, including email, electronic timekeeping systems, and report preparation.
- Ability to follow and enforce federal security protocols, including badge/PIV requirements and access controls.
- Commitment to confidentiality and professionalism within secure government facilities.
- Physical ability to perform custodial duties, including lifting, bending, standing, and walking for extended periods.
- High level of reliability, integrity, and professional conduct.
- Flexibility to support after-hours work, special projects, inspections, and contract modifications.
- Strong customer-service orientation with a focus on federal client satisfaction and continuity of services.

Certifications
- OSHA 30-Hour (Preferred)
