Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer
Job Description
The Manufacturing Engineer leads electro-mechanical new product introduction (NPI) projects, ensuring that new products are effectively transitioned into production. This role focuses on project management, process risk analysis, manufacturability, and accurate labor and process documentation to support efficient, high-quality manufacturing operations.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage electro-mechanical NPI projects from concept through successful production launch.
- Create and maintain PFMEA (Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) to understand and document process risk for new products.
- Estimate labor times for new products and monitor actual labor performance, adjusting processes as needed.
- Support the quoting process by providing accurate labor estimates and manufacturing input.
- Collaborate with design teams to improve design for manufacturability and optimize production processes.
- Set up and maintain manufacturing product structures in the ERP system to ensure accurate bills of material and routings.
- Work closely with process engineering to drive completion of all required documentation, including routings and build instructions.
- Facilitate pre-build meetings and ensure completion of NPI Build Readiness Checklists before production runs.
- Ensure that all build materials, tools, and equipment are available and ready to meet project schedules.
- Support NPI builds on the production floor to meet schedule, quality, and performance requirements.
- Represent manufacturing operations in weekly product meetings with cross-functional teams, providing updates and recommendations.
- Support new customer proposals by providing manufacturing compliance information and process-related input.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and continuous improvement within manufacturing operations.
- Troubleshoot manufacturing and assembly issues to maintain product quality and production efficiency.
Essential Skills
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Electronics from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of four years of relevant NPI engineering experience.
- Hands-on experience in manufacturing engineering and process engineering for electro-mechanical products.
- Demonstrated project management skills in new product introduction environments.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, assembly operations, and process improvement methodologies.
- Experience creating and using PFMEA for process risk analysis.
- Ability to estimate labor times and analyze actual labor performance.
- Proficiency in supporting design for manufacturability and collaborating with design teams.
- Experience setting up and maintaining product structures in ERP systems.
- Ability to multi-task effectively and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong written, verbal, and group presentation communication skills.
- Interpersonal skills necessary to lead teams and work respectfully across departments.
- Troubleshooting skills for manufacturing and assembly processes.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with continuous improvement initiatives in manufacturing environments.
- Experience in assembly processes for electro-mechanical products.
- Familiarity with routing creation and build instruction development.
- Experience participating in or leading cross-functional product meetings.
- Ability to support new customer proposals with compliance and manufacturing information.
Work Environment
This role operates in both floor and office environments, with time split between the production area and an office setting for planning, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration. The position involves working closely with manufacturing teams, process engineering, and other departments, using ERP systems and standard office productivity tools while being present on the shop floor to support NPI builds and troubleshoot processes.

This is a Permanent position based out of Oak Creek, WI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $95000.00 - $110000.00/yr.
