A school district in Edison, NJ is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher for a full-time, short-term contract to cover a maternity leave. This opportunity is ideal for professionals who hold a CE/CEAS or a Standard Special Education license in New Jersey and have a passion for supporting middle school students.
Responsibilities include providing direct instruction and support to 8th grade students within a co-teaching environment. The caseload will consist of approximately 10 students, requiring collaboration with general education teachers and other staff to ensure individualized educational plans are effectively implemented. The position runs from September 12th through November 24th.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid CE/CEAS or Standard Special Education teaching license for New Jersey
- Experience working with middle school students, preferably in an inclusive classroom or co-teaching setting
- Ability to develop and deliver differentiated instruction tailored to individual student needs
- Strong munication and collaboration skills to work effectively with educators, families, and support staff
