Oncology Hospital Pharmacist Hours

  • 8 PM – 7 AM, 7 days on / 7 days off. Weeks begin at end of week (Wednesday or Thursday).

Oncology Hospital Pharmacist Compensation

  • The pay for this position is $65.00-70.00 hour
  • Benefits are available to full-time employees after 90 days of employment
  • A 401(k) with a company match is available for full-time employees with 1 year of service on our eligibility dates

Oncology Hospital Pharmacist Responsibilities

  • Review patient profiles for appropriate therapy (age, gender, diagnoses, labs, allergies, etc.).
  • Transcribe medication orders accurately, including protocol-based orders.
  • Verify therapy, medication, dose, route, and frequency.
  • Recommend alternative therapies when needed.
  • Accurately dispense medications, prescriptions, and miscellaneous items.
  • Process requests via phone, fax, window, and computer.
  • Obtain medications using cost-effective or alternative options.
  • Sign all paperwork/labels legibly.
  • Perform unit-dose checks and verify patient profiles.
  • Check medications before stocking automated dispensing machines and floor stock.
  • Verify IVs, batching, repackaging, and emergency kits.
  • Sign paperwork/labels legibly.
  • Prepare and supervise aseptic IV compounding, including chemotherapy.
  • Ensure timely checking, documentation, and storage of supplies.
  • Demonstrate expertise in sterile techniques and hazardous drug handling.
  • Participate in clinical initiatives and document interventions.
  • Support Pharmacy & Therapeutics initiatives.
  • Review therapies for duplications or inappropriate medication use.
  • Convert non-formulary medications to formulary alternatives.

Oncology Hospital Pharmacist Requirements

  • Pharmacist License in NJ
  • 2+ years of previous hospital pharmacy experience
  • Previous oncology/infusion center experience
