Franzenburg LLC is seeking a dependable and hardworking Machine Shop Helper/Shop Assistant to support daily shop operations. The role includes assisting management, handling materials, performing equipment maintenance, and supporting transportation of shop supplies and machinery. Ideal candidates are mechanically inclined, safety- focused, and willing to take on a variety of hands on tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
* Load and unload Machines and materials safely and efficiently
* Assist with general shop tasks and workflow
* Pick up and deliver offsite supplies, parts, and equipment
* transport shop equipment and materials as needed
* Perform routine maintenance on shop equipment and tools
* Conduct safety inspections on shop equipment
* Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
* Follow all company safety policies and procedures
* Support additional shop duties as assigned
Qualifications:
* Valid drivers license is required
* CDL preferred, but not required
* High school diploma or GED required
* Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
* Ability to lift 50+lbs and perform physical labor
* Ability to follow instruction and work independently or as part of a team
* Strong attention to safety and detail
Preferred Skills:
* Previous machine shop or manufacturing maintenance experience
* Experience with hand and power tools
* Experience with equipment maintenance
* Basic knowledge of shop safety standards (OSHA experience is a plus)
Work Environment:
* Industrial Machine Shop Setting
* Exposure to machinery, noise, and moving equipment
* Driving required for pick up and deliveries
* Forklift and overhead crane operation required for loading and unloading of machinery
* PPE required (provided by employer)
