Summary
The Senior Program Manager will be responsible for overseeing the successful planning, execution, and delivery of engineering projects. They will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to drive product development initiatives, ensure project milestones and budgets are met, and maintain alignment with organizational goals. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with exceptional leadership skills and a strong technical background in engineering.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Project Planning and Execution: Lead the planning and execution of engineering projects, including defining project scope, objectives, timelines, and resource requirements.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize project management processes, increase efficiency, and enhance team performance.
- Engineering Change Management: Manage the design process, manufacturing process and documentation throughout a project lifecycle.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering teams, product managers, and other stakeholders to define project requirements, prioritize tasks, and resolve issues that may arise during the project lifecycle.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate project risks by proactively identifying potential issues, developing contingency plans, and implementing risk mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
- Communication and Reporting: Facilitate effective communication among team members and stakeholders by providing regular project updates, status reports, and performance metrics. Present project status and key insights to senior management as needed.
- Quality Assurance: Oversee quality assurance processes to ensure that engineering deliverables meet quality standards and comply with regulatory requirements.
- All other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Ability to Lead, Manage and Hold Accountable members of Project Teams
Qualifications / Experience / Education
- Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across teams
- Experience in Cold Forging, Flowforming and Machining preferred
- Bachelor’s or degree in Engineering or a related field
- Minimum 10 years of experience in program or project management preferably in an engineering-focused environment to include deep understanding of engineering principles and methodologies
- Solid understanding of project management tools and methodologies
- PMP or other relevant certifications are a plus
- Previous high-volume manufacturing / automotive experience preferred
Monday-Friday 8AM-5PM (plus evenings and weekends as required according to Program or Project)
