Role Overview: Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Financial Analyst will play a key role in driving the financial strategy and performance of a subset of our operating brands. This position focuses on financial modeling, forecasting, variance analysis, budgeting, and delivering actionable insights to support business leaders in achieving growth and operational goals. The role is critical in supporting Monarch Collective’s M&A-driven expansion and organic growth initiatives and will have direct interaction with the executive leadership team.

This is a hybrid role based in Chicago, IL, with an expectation of being in the office three days per week.

Responsibilities:

  • Own and maintain financial models for portfolio brands, collaborating closely with general managers to develop detailed, forward-looking financial forecasts and scenarios.
  • Work directly with general managers at the sites to identify month-over-month variances, analyze underlying causes, and develop strategic recommendations for financial improvements.
  • Analyze actual financial performance against budget and prior periods, presenting insights to business leaders and partnering with them to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Conduct in-depth, data-driven analyses to address key business questions for the 10 entities under your guidance.
  • Streamline processes for collecting, analyzing, and reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs) to enhance decision-making across portfolio companies.
  • Support the development and monitoring of annual budgets and long-term financial plans for assigned brands, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives.
  • Track and analyze cash flow trends across portfolio companies, projecting future needs and identifying optimization opportunities.
  • Summarize financial performance by preparing high-level reports and dashboards for leadership, highlighting trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Monitor industry trends and competitive benchmarks to provide context for financial performance and inform strategic recommendations.
  • Assist with gathering and analyzing financial data for investor presentations or other external reporting needs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of relevant work experience.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., financial modeling, data visualization).
  • Experience with data tools such as Looker, Snowflake, or accounting software Oracle NetSuite and querying or coding languages such as SQL or Python is a plus.
  • Strong analytical mindset with a demonstrated ability to translate data into actionable business insights.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple work streams and deliver results under tight timelines with high attention to detail.

Salary Range: As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay scale for this position is $70,000 to $100,000. Placement in the range depends on several factors such as experience, skills, geography and internal equity and may change over time. This position qualifies for benefits and you will be eligible to participate in a bonus plan.
