PanCare of Florida is seeking a dedicated and patient-centered Optometrist to join our clinical team. In this role, you will provide full-scope primary eye care services, including diagnosis, treatment, preventive care, and care coordination for patients of all ages. What You’ll Do
As an Optometrist, you will:
- Provide comprehensive eye exams and optometric care
- Diagnose and manage eye conditions and visual disorders
- Conduct routine testing such as visual field assessments and diagnostic imaging
- Review detailed patient medical histories, including medications and previous treatments
- Prescribe corrective lenses, optical devices, and treatment plans as needed
- Refer patients to ophthalmology or other specialists when appropriate
- Educate patients on eye care, hygiene, lens use, and preventive strategies
- Evaluate symptoms such as dryness, redness, inflammation, discharge, or visual changes
- Identify safety hazards impacting vision (screen exposure, environmental factors, chemical exposure, etc.)
- Supervise optometry students or trainees when assigned
- Participate in peer review, case collaboration, and clinical meetings
- Support quality improvement initiatives and compliance programs
- Follow infection control protocols and ensure support staff compliance
- Assist with public outreach and community education events
- Meet or exceed UDS productivity standards
- Participate in safety programs and emergency response procedures
- Perform additional duties as needed to support a smooth clinic workflow

Required Credentials & Competencies
- Active Florida Optometry License
- Current DEA Certification
- CPR Certification
- Malpractice insurability
- Strong diagnostic, documentation, and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
- Lightlifting up to 10 lbs. (equipment, supplies, etc.)
- Regular computer and diagnostic equipment use
- Occasional bending, reaching, or mobility required
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic clinical environment
