We are looking for an experienced Human Resources Manager to support a busy operation in Nashwauk, Minnesota (near Hibbing). This Long-term Contract position is ideal for a HR Manager who can set direction, strengthen consistency, and also stay closely involved in daily human resources activities. The role covers a wide range of HR functions and will play a central part in guiding the team while improving structure across the department.


Responsibilities:

• Lead both strategic and day-to-day human resources activities across the organization, balancing leadership responsibilities with direct operational support.

• Manage employee relations matters, including performance concerns, disciplinary issues, and separations, with sound judgment and care.

• Oversee the full onboarding process to help new hires transition smoothly into their roles and become productive quickly.

• Administer employee benefits and leave programs, ensuring accurate handling, timely communication, and compliance with applicable policies.

• Provide compensation support for newly established positions, including helping define roles and aligning pay practices with organizational needs.

• Offer direction and oversight to HR team functions such as payroll and recruiting to promote accuracy, consistency, and service quality.

• Strengthen HR processes, procedures, and documentation in an environment that requires greater structure and standardization.

• 10+ years of progressive human resources experience, including leadership-level responsibility in a broad HR generalist capacity.

• Demonstrated ability to operate at both a strategic level and a hands-on execution level within a fast-moving environment.

• Strong background in employee relations, HR administration, benefits coordination, and onboarding.

• Experience managing leave administration, terminations, and other sensitive employee matters with discretion and professionalism.

• Working knowledge of compensation practices, including supporting the creation and evaluation of new positions.

• Familiarity with HRIS systems and the ability to maintain accurate records and support HR process efficiency.

• Proven ability to guide cross-functional HR activities and provide oversight to areas such as payroll and talent acquisition
