LeafSpring School at Charter Colony, an accredited preschool located in Midlothian, VA, is seeking a Director for our Before/After School, School-Age Summer Camp, and Elementary School Programs. We are looking for an experienced, creative, passionate, and flexible individual to lead, support, manage, and guide our growing school.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:


  • Overseeing operations to ensure compliance with all applicable standards and regulations.
  • Building strong relationships with families and staff.
  • Recruiting, hiring, counseling, training, and managing all personnel.
  • Maintaining and managing enrollment.
  • Ensuring program quality.
  • Creating and managing budgets.
  • Providing excellent customer service to both internal and external customers.

CANDIDATE MUST POSSESS THE FOLLOWING:


  • A strong commitment to early education and school-aged recreation.
  • Top-notch customer service skills.
  • An upbeat, positive attitude and work ethic in a fast-paced environment.
  • Expert computer skills, including but not limited to Microsoft products and child management systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly effective organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule between the hours of 6:30 AM and 6:30 PM.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:


Education:

  • Masters Degree in early or elementary education, child development, or another child-related field, with a minimum of two years (not necessarily consecutive) of experience teaching young children in a group setting.

OR


  • Bachelors Degree in early or elementary education, child development, or another child-related field, with a minimum of five years (not necessarily consecutive) of experience teaching young children in a group setting.

Other:

  • A genuine love for children and an ability to relate well to them, their families, and teachers.
  • A minimum of one year of supervisory experience in an early educational, elementary, or recreational setting.
  • Demonstrated team-building accomplishments, fostering group collaboration toward common goals.
  • Previous experience in a NAEYC-accredited program is preferred.
  • CPR and First Aid certification (or the ability to obtain certification upon hire).
