Job Description\n
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an ICU position in an acute care setting requiring a CA RN license and strong ICU skills.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
- Work in an 8-bed ICU within an acute care hospital
- Care for primarily medical ICU patients, including those requiring telemetry, ventilator support, and EKG interpretation
- Nursing ratios are 1:1-2 with 12-hour night shifts
- Every other weekend shifts and floating to sister facilities or the MedSurg unit may be required
- EMR system used is Cerner
- Presence of hospitalist or intensivist, 24/7 respiratory therapy, and pharmacy support
- First to float; floating may include shifts at all Sacramento area facilities or on the MedSurg unit
- Holiday coverage is required and scheduled on a rotating basis with core staff
- Scrubs must be navy; undershirts must be navy, white, or black; navy scrub jackets are optional
- Bedside shift report is conducted
- Basic to moderate ICU travel experience is preferred
- Candidates may not have been directly employed by any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI or Dignity, within the past year
- Testing on sterile technique for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes required during orientation
- Short floor-specific orientation (1-2 days with preceptor)

- Active CA RN license required at time of consideration
- Minimum 2 years of ICU nursing experience
- Current AHA certifications in BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS
- Ability to read and interpret EKG strips
- Completion of Relias Dysrhythmia exam prior to acceptance, with pass/fail requirements
- Two supervisory or peer references: one from the last 12 months and another from within the last three years
- Driver’s license required for consideration
