As a Peer Counselor, you’ll empower mothers, champion breastfeeding, and help build healthier futures for children in our community.

What You’ll Do

As a valued member of our WIC team, you will:

  • Provide one-on-one emotional support to mothers and their significant others
  • Offer practical guidance on normal breastfeeding and what to expect
  • Provide anticipatory support to help prevent common challenges
  • Advocate for breastfeeding within the community
  • Support families with cultural sensitivity and awareness
  • Participate in WIC Breastfeeding Support Groups

Your lived experience and encouragement can make all the difference!

What We’re Looking For:

  • Must be a current or former WIC participant
  • Must have breastfeeding experience
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1 – 3 years of experience working with diverse populations
  • Willingness to complete the Peer Counselor Training Program (we provide training)
  • A collaborative, community-focused mindset
