Environmental Health & Safety Specialist | Battle Creek, MI
Salary Range: $64,000 - $97,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity
We are partnering with organizations in Battle Creek that are seeking Environmental Health & Safety Specialists. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement EHS policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments to identify and mitigate hazards.
- Investigate accidents and near misses, determining root causes and recommending corrective actions.
- Provide EHS training to employees on various topics, including hazard communication and emergency response.
- Manage hazardous waste disposal and ensure proper record-keeping.
- Maintain and update safety data sheets (SDS) and other EHS documentation.
- Collaborate with production teams to integrate safety best practices into manufacturing processes.
Recommended Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related science/engineering field.
- 3+ years of EHS experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant federal, state, and local EHS regulations.
- Proven ability to conduct EHS training, incident investigations, and risk assessments.
- Experience with EHS management systems (e.g., ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
- Professional certifications such as CSP, CIH, or CHMM are a plus.
Bonus Qualifications
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Associate Safety Professional (ASP) certification
- Experience with ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001 management systems
- Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Tableau) for EHS metrics
- Bilingual (especially Spanish) to facilitate communication with a diverse workforce
