Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
An opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher with a focus on high school math, serving students in grades 912. This role is based in Gloucester, VA, and emphasizes a collaborative teaching environment to support student success in math classes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction to high school students with diverse learning needs, primarily in math subjects.
- Collaborate with general education teachers to adapt curriculum and instructional strategies.
- Develop individualized education programs (IEPs) aligned with student goals.
- Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting teaching methods as necessary.
- Foster an inclusive classroom environment that supports academic and social development.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification.
- Strong background in teaching high school mathematics.
- Experience working in a collaborative teaching model preferred.
- Skill in creating tailored instructional plans to meet individual student needs.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to work effectively with staff and families.
