Hourly Compensation: $37.45 - $44.95 per hour, depending on prior experience, plus an additional $2.25 per hour for night shifts.

Work Schedule: FULL-TIME NIGHT SHIFT from 6 PM to 6 AM on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, with an additional shift every other Sunday from 10 PM to 6 AM.

The main role of the Registered Nurse (RN) is to apply the nursing process in planning and delivering direct care to assigned residents. The RN will oversee and implement shift routines within the designated nursing unit, while also supervising and evaluating the activities of staff as the designated leader, in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act. Responsibilities may include assuming “Building Charge” duties as directed by the Director of Nursing or their designee.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Active Registered Nurse license in Colorado
  • Current CPR Certification
  • Maintenance of required Continuing Education Units (CEUs)
  • Preferred experience in long-term care settings
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make independent decisions using initiative and discretion
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities
  • Effective communication skills with staff, families, and external agencies
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively
  • Customer service-oriented with knowledge of effective service techniques
  • Clinical proficiency in performing physical and cognitive assessments of residents
  • Competence in using computers and electronic devices for tasks such as timekeeping and documentation
  • Team player mentality
  • Understanding of current Antibiotic Stewardship, Infection Prevention, and OSHA guidelines

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Leadership and Direction on Assigned Unit
    • Exemplify positive communication skills with nursing assistants, interdisciplinary teams, and management.
    • Maintain open communication with supervisors and colleagues during shift reports.
    • Conduct rounds to assess residents' physical and psychosocial well-being.
    • Assign staff appropriately to meet the needs of residents.
    • Ensure that unit staff fulfill their responsibilities during your shift.
    • Participate in scheduled nurses' and team meetings.
    • Initiate disciplinary actions when necessary based on staff performance.
    • Report any occupational exposures to needlesticks, blood, or hazardous materials as per facility policies.
    • Bring forward concerns or suggestions for improvement to facility leadership.
  • Resident Care Responsibilities
    • Maintain proficiency in all required skills within assigned areas.
    • Ensure residents are treated with dignity and respect.
    • Report any suspected abuse or neglect immediately according to company policy.
    • Administer nursing techniques to promote resident comfort and well-being.
    • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
    • Stay informed about medications and report any side effects or concerns to physicians.
    • Document all required information accurately and promptly according to facility policies.
    • Follow established routines for monitoring vital signs and administering treatments.
    • Communicate changes in resident conditions to physicians.
    • Keep resident representatives and families informed about their loved ones' conditions.
    • Adhere to emergency protocols in case of a 911 call.
    • Follow all Advance Directives and protocols regarding DNR/DNI/CPR/Comfort Care.
  • Documentation and Assessment Duties
    • Assist in completing and updating residents' care plans.
    • Evaluate and report on the performance of staff under your supervision.
    • Perform routine charting duties in accordance with established policies.
    • Accurately transcribe physician orders and communicate necessary information to other departments.
    • Document and report all incidents involving residents, visitors, and staff.
    • Maintain informative and descriptive nurses' notes that reflect care provided and resident responses.
    • Conduct ongoing assessments of residents as needed and document according to facility policy.
  • Personnel Responsibilities
    • Attend scheduled nurses' meetings.
    • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
    • Fulfill continuing education requirements.
    • Participate in employee performance evaluations and staffing recommendations.
    • Foster good working relationships with inter-departmental personnel.
    • Attend required in-services and complete assigned online training modules.
  • Committee Involvement
    • Participate in various committees and meetings to enhance interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • Other duties as assigned.
