Job Title: Warehouse Associate / Material Handler

Job Description

This role supports a high-volume, technology-driven warehouse by receiving, storing, picking, and preparing parts and finished goods to meet production and customer demands. You will work with RF scanners, forklifts, and other material handling equipment to ensure accurate inventory control, timely order fulfillment, and a clean, organized facility. The position requires strong attention to detail, a safety-first mindset, and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team-oriented environment.

2nd Shift - 3pm-11:30pm

$19.80/hour (with room for growth)

Responsibilities

  • Receive incoming parts from vendors and internal facilities, verify accuracy against documentation, update the computer system, and place materials in the correct warehouse locations.
  • Pick part orders from both low and high storage locations using an RF scanner, and load orders onto production carts in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Support finished goods and parts maintenance by participating in cycle counting programs, bin and space consolidation, and general care and cleanliness of inventory and the warehouse facility.
  • Become cross-trained within the department and assist in other departments as needed to support overall operations and workload balancing.
  • Identify potential or recurring errors in materials handling or documentation, communicate issues, and help verify your own work and the work of other associates to ensure customer expectations are met.
  • Follow all policies and guidelines in the company handbook and adhere to departmental rules and regulations, including maintaining respect for fellow employees and prioritizing safety.
  • Operate and maintain warehouse equipment according to schedules and procedures, promptly report any equipment issues to leadership, and keep your work area neat and organized.
  • Accept responsibility for your actions and work performed, maintain a positive attitude, and contribute to a cooperative, team-oriented environment while showing consistent respect for colleagues.
  • Participate in company-sponsored activities such as suggestion programs, quality training, and other continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Perform packing, shipping, and receiving tasks as needed to support outbound and inbound logistics.
  • Safely operate sit-down or stand-up forklifts and other material handling equipment to move, load, and stage products.
  • Perform other duties as required to support warehouse, inventory, and production operations.

Essential Skills

  • At least 1 year of experience operating a sit-down or stand-up forklift in a warehouse or similar environment.
  • Hands-on experience with packing, shipping, and receiving activities.
  • Experience with inventory handling, picking, and loading in a warehouse environment.
  • Ability to use RF scanners to pick orders and manage inventory transactions.
  • Basic computer skills to update inventory systems and process receipts and orders.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling parts, documentation, and system updates.
  • Ability to maintain a clean, organized work area and follow established procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate respectfully with colleagues.
  • Commitment to safety practices and adherence to company policies and departmental rules.
  • Willingness to accept responsibility for work performed and to support continuous improvement efforts.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with cycle counting and inventory control programs.
  • Familiarity with bin and space consolidation initiatives in a warehouse setting.
  • Comfort working in a cross-functional environment and supporting multiple departments as needed.
  • Interest in developing additional skills such as soldering, quality control, and chain operation through on-site training and certification.
  • Ability to identify and communicate process issues or recurring errors to help improve operations.
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and reliable attendance to support performance-based advancement opportunities.

Work Environment

The position is based in a large, well-lit, temperature-controlled warehouse that is part of a broader manufacturing and production campus. The facility is extremely clean, organized, and highly automated, with many of the company’s own automated drives and motors in use throughout the operations. The campus includes both manufacturing and production buildings, with the production facility employing approximately 150 people, around 100 of whom work directly in production. You will work with RF scanners, forklifts, and other material handling equipment in a modern, efficiency-focused environment. This is a Permanent position based out of Buffalo Grove, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
