Job DescriptionLHH Recruitment Solutions has partnered with a growing manufacturing company. We are seeking a highly skilled Business Unit Accounting Manager to oversee the full scope of accounting operations for a key business unit within our manufacturing organization. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with GAAP, and driving cost efficiency through robust cost accounting practices. Job Title: Business Unit Accounting Manager Location: Fully Onsite Industry: Manufacturing Salary Range: $110,000 - $130,000

Key Responsibilities

  • Full-Cycle Accounting: Manage all aspects of accounting, including general ledger, month-end and year-end close, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
  • Cost Accounting:
    • Develop and maintain standard costing systems.
    • Analyze variances and provide actionable insights to improve cost efficiency.
    • Partner with operations to monitor production costs and inventory valuation.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Prepare annual budgets and rolling forecasts; monitor performance against targets.
  • Internal Controls: Ensure compliance with internal policies and SOX requirements; implement process improvements.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor accounting staff; foster a culture of accuracy and accountability.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with manufacturing, supply chain, and finance teams to support business objectives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or CMA preferred.
  • Minimum 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
  • Cost Accounting expertise is mandatory-preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar).
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP).
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
