What is the Job all About?

· The Shipping & Receiving Clerk is responsible for handling all outbound shipments, incoming receipts, warehousing, and the general movement of materials and equipment throughout the company. The position requires a high level of attention to detail, physical capability, and the ability to work quickly and safely across a wide range of tasks.

· Located at our Hayward Facility

· This role plays a critical part in ensuring timely and reliable shipments to customers, accurate inventory control, and organized material handling.

Additional Information:

Responsibilities:


Shipping & Receiving Operations:

  • Pick, package, route, and document daily sales orders based on instructions from Order Management, customer requirements, and applicable carrier policies.
  • Verify and record the receipt of incoming materials against approved Purchase Orders and deliver materials to designated recipients or storage locations.
  • Maintain files of service guides, waybills, and related documents for all carriers and freight forwarders to ensure accessibility and clarity for other qualified personnel.
  • Track and expedite individual shipments through appropriate recordkeeping and logging systems.
  • Ensure all materials in inventory are clearly identified and protected from mix-up or unauthorized use.
  • Maintain the shipping, receiving, general storage, and warehouse areas in a clean and organized state.
  • Perform regular warehouse inventory counts, enter data into NetSuite, and monitor for low stock levels or items nearing expiration.
  • Requisition shipping and material handling supplies as needed to maintain operational readiness.
  • Execute material and equipment movement tasks under the direction of the Operations Manager.

Safety and Facility Support:

  • Follow safe lifting and material handling techniques to reduce the risk of injury and support overall workplace safety.
  • Identify, store, and handle any hazardous materials in accordance with safety regulations and company policy.
  • Monitor and police the grounds and parking area around the building, removing debris and reporting conditions requiring property management attention.

Customer and Team Collaboration:

  • Work collaboratively with internal teams, shipping partners, and distributors to meet customer satisfaction goals and support revenue achievement.
  • Maintain professional, polite, and effective communication with all individuals inside and outside the company.

Other Duties as Assigned:

  • Support other projects or operational needs as directed by the Operations Manager.

Requirements:


Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.


Experience:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in inventory management, shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations.
  • Experience with stocking, record-keeping, material handling, and use of inventory systems (e.g., NetSuite) preferred.
  • Familiarity with shipping carriers and methods, including UPS, FedEx, DHL, and LTL freight providers, is a plus.

Skills:

  • Strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with speed and accuracy.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with units of measure and material handling equipment.
  • Physical stamina and ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.

Certifications: Forklift certification preferred but not required.


Physical Requirements: Ability to perform manual labor, including lifting, walking, and standing for extended periods. Work may take place in both indoor and outdoor environments.
