Job Title: Junior Accounting Clerk
Location: City of Commerce, CA
Pay Rate: $26.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Job Type: Full-Time
Job Summary:
The Junior Accounting Clerk will be responsible for supporting accounting functions including data entry, invoice processing, and financial record maintenance. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, basic accounting knowledge, and experience working with accounting systems such as Master System.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) transactions
- Enter and maintain accurate financial data within the Master System accounting software
- Assist with invoice processing, matching, and verification
- Reconcile discrepancies and support account balancing activities
- Maintain organized and accurate financial records and documentation
- Assist with month-end closing processes and reporting
- Communicate with vendors and internal departments regarding billing and payment inquiries
- Support audits and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
Qualifications:
- 1–2 years of accounting, bookkeeping, or finance-related experience preferred
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles (AP/AR, reconciliations, general ledger)
- Experience with accounting systems (Master System preferred)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic computer skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to handle confidential financial information with discretion
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred but not required)
- Experience in a distribution or logistics environment is a plus
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus
