Position Overview

Bethesda Clinic is seeking a proactive and financially literate operations leader to oversee front-of-house operations, revenue cycle coordination and patient experience across two clinic locations.

This role directly supervises front desk staff, billing, admissions, and community health coordination. The position is responsible for ensuring efficient patient flow, appropriate scheduling, correct admissions processes, accurate billing, and financial sustainability of clinic operations.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thinks in systems, leads with accountability, and understands how operational decisions directly impact financial performance and patient satisfaction.

This role requires a leader who takes ownership of operational outcomes, makes decisions to improve clinic performance and holds teams accountable to clear standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Train, lead, supervise front desk and revenue-related staff
  • Optimize daily provider schedules and reduce unused capacity
  • Ensure accurate and timely insurance verification processes prior to appointments
  • Be proficient across all EMR systems
  • Oversee workflows across EMR system and ensure staff are utilizing it effectively
  • Monitor key revenue cycle indicators and implement improvements
  • Identify operational risks and resolve them proactively
  • Oversee patient access and scheduling performance to ensure efficient provider utilization and timely patient care
  • Decide and lead team into achieving annual, quarterly and monthly operational goals
  • Ensure compliance with all organizational policies and applicable state and federal regulations, including HIPAA requirements related to the protection and confidentiality of Protected Health Information (PHI)
  • Collaborate with providers, administrators, volunteers, patients, other departments and the community to enhance patient satisfaction.
  • Gather reports on a weekly and monthly basis and make enhancement recommendations
  • Monitor patient satisfaction feedback and implement improvements to enhance the patient experience
  • Hold team members accountable to performance expectations through regular one-on-one meetings and annual reviews.
  • Coordinate workflows across two clinic locations and EMR systems
  • Actively participate in professional and spiritual development activities offered
  • Demonstrate strong adherence to the Bethesda BOOM
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university in a healthcare related field or equivalent experience preferred
  • 3+ years in medical practice operations and revenue cycle leadership
  • Experience supervising front desk and billing staff
  • Strong understanding of insurance verification and patient collections
  • Experience improving operational performance
  • Ability to work some evenings and Saturdays as needed

Work Environment

This job operates in a medical and retail office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Demands

Sitting or standing for long periods of time, operating a scanner/copier; typing for an extended period.


Position type and expected hours of work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, and some Saturdays


Travel

Travel, when needed, is between locations, local and during the business day.
