About the Position
- Medical Lab Technician
- Full-time 1.0 FTE (80 hours per pay period)
- Days, Evenings. Every 3rd weekend rotation
- Grand Itasca Clinic and Hospital Laboratory Department
Job Summary:
The Medical Lab Technician performs medical laboratory tests, procedures, experiments, and analyses to provide data for diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease.
Here's what you'll do when you join us:
- Understand and use scientific and technical language and symbols.
- Recognize slight differences in shape, color, and texture.
- Use eyes, hands and fingers to operate delicate and sensitive equipment.
- Work precisely and accurately.
- Follow technical instructions which may be oral, written, or in the form of charts or drawings.
- Use measurable and verifiable information for making decisions or judgments.
- Collects and processes all specimen types.
- Participates in proficiency testing.
- Ensures that patient results are reported correctly and seek help when corrective action is needed.
- Follows all quality control and patient reporting processes.
- Completes competency assessment.
- Competent with the LIS and HER systems.
If you have these qualifications, we'd love to chat:
- Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology required.
- Eligible for ASCP or equivalent (must obtain within 12-months of hire) required.
- Good interpersonal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to follow and adhere to Grand Itasca Clinic and Hospital policies, vision, mission and values.
- Maintains reliable and consistent attendance.
