Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A middle school Special Education Teacher position is available for the 2025-2026 school year, starting August 18, 2025, in Elgin, IL. This role focuses on a Supported Learning Environment classroom serving 6th through 8th graders with lower cognitive abilities. Students are supported in a self-contained setting but spend 50-80% of their day integrated into the general education environment. The caseload currently consists of 5 students, with a potential increase to 8.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction tailored to students with disabilities in a self-contained classroom.
- Support student integration and collaboration within general education settings.
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
- Manage caseload effectively, ensuring compliance with educational standards and student needs.
- Collaborate with staff, families, and related service providers to support student progress.
Qualifications:
- Valid Professional Educator License with Learning Behavior Specialist 1 Endorsement.
- Demonstrated experience working with students with disabilities.
- Proficiency in IEP writing and case management.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
