POSITION OVERVIEW:

Reporting to the Crusher/Site Maintenance/Electrical General Supervisor, the Site Maintenance Electrical Supervisor oversees, maintains, and facilitates the needs of the mine-site by ensuring the safe and efficient operation of site electrical and instrumentation infrastructures.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Directly supervise, develop, and provide technical guidance of site electrical maintenance team and staff.
  • Direct and coordinate electrical maintenance and repair activities of equipment and systems.
  • Works closely with the Electrical Planner to ensure that proper job planning and scheduling of electrical maintenance activities are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Perform daily line-out of crew and work assignments.
  • Work with other departments on scheduling / Job walks / requirement needs.
  • Assist in work order completion and closing out.
  • Help to identify training needs within the Team.
  • Assess tooling requirements and needs.
  • Leads team in minor construction projects.
  • Leads team in best safe work practices and mock electrical MSHA inspection on equipment and facilities.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, preferred.
  • Mechanical trades Certificate, preferred.
  • 5 years minimum industrial electrical/instrumentation experience working with 3-phase 480-volt motors and controls, generators, pumps, motors, fans, and various process control instruments or equivalent required.
  • 2-3 years’ experience working on high voltage electrical distribution equipment and system(s)- preferred
  • Experience and understanding of laws, regulations, and best practices pertaining to electrical equipment and systems including lock-out tag-out, NFPA 7OB and 70E, Arc Flash Program, etc.
  • The ability to work with multiple platforms such as Allen Bradley, Toshiba, Control Logix, Siemens, preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment with people of varying skills and backgrounds, required.
  • Demonstrate strong computer skills required.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform essential functions of the position required.
