The Goddard School in Lake in the Hills is seeking a reliable and organized Cook/Kitchen Inchargeto oversee our daily catering meal program for students. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a school environment and helping to support healthy, nutritious meals for children. You will play an important role in managing and distributing nutritious and delicious meals that are catered for our young learners. We are passionate about fostering a nurturing environment, and your kitchen management expertise will help us achieve that mission!

Overview
The Cook/Kitchen Incharge will coordinate and manage our catered meal program, ensuring meals are received, prepared, and served according to health and safety standards.

Qualifications
A food handler must have, or be willing to obtain, certification as a Food Service Manager as required by the Food Handling Regulation Enforcement Act. In addition, the food handler must have the ability to:
Experience in food service, kitchen management, or childcare nutrition preferred
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to maintain cleanliness and follow health department guidelines
Must be dependable and punctual
Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Responsibilities

A food handlers responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Receive and organize catered breakfast, lunch, and snack deliveries

Prepare and portion meals for classrooms

Maintain a clean, sanitary kitchen and food preparation area

Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines

Manage food inventory and communicate with our catering provider as needed

Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, and food containers

Ensure proper food storage and temperature control

Support staff with meal service and classroom delivery when needed

Attend faculty meetings and participate in school events

Schedule:
Monday Friday 30+ hours per week School hours (no nights or weekends)
