Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A healthcare facility in Aurora, CO is seeking a dedicated pharmacist for a 13-week contract opportunity with the potential to transition to a permanent role based on performance. Key Responsibilities:
- Accept and dispense prescription medications accurately and safely
- Monitor patient medication compliance and identify patterns of overuse
- Ensure medication supplies comply with legal regulations
- Verify suitability of prescribed medications for patients
- Maintain confidential and accurate patient records and pharmacy files
- Advise patients on medication usage, potential side effects, and answer their questions
- Provide consultations on both prescription and over-the-counter medications, including storage, dosage, and drug interactions
- Offer patient services such as smoking cessation programs, blood pressure checks, and cholesterol management
- Educate patients on the proper use of medical devices, including blood pressure monitors and glucose meters
- Compound medications for external or internal use and prepare sterile solutions following established protocols
- Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks to ensure efficient pharmacy operations
- Manage pharmaceutical and medical supply inventory
- Identify and communicate drug-related problems to physicians and other healthcare professionals
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes
Qualifications:
- Colorado Pharmacist License must be current and in-hand
- Open to retail pharmacists seeking to transition, with on-the-job training provided
- Flexibility to work day and evening shifts, including early starts (as early as 7 AM) and late finishes (up to 11 PM), with rotating weekends
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively consult with patients and healthcare providers
