Requirements Overview
We are seeking a highly technical and knowledgeable Electrical Engineer with deep experience in power distribution and all related aspects. If you have designed electrical systems, including switchgear, protection schemes, and distribution layouts, and have experience with system integration, you would be an excellent fit for this role.

Position Overview
We are partnering with a leading manufacturer of custom-engineered electrical distribution equipment and systems, looking to add a talented Electrical Engineer to their team in West Jordan, Utah. This role involves the design, engineering, and integration of the custom power distribution equipment that the company manufactures. Given the focus on industrial systems like switchgear and PDCs (Power Distribution Centers), the role is hands-on with complex power designs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop medium-voltage electrical systems, including switchgear, protection schemes, distribution layouts, and control integration.
  • Support the engineering and design of low- and high-voltage components to deliver complete system solutions.
  • Produce accurate engineering drawings, specifications, wiring diagrams, and calculations, ensuring compliance with NEC, IEEE, NFPA, UL, and customer standards.
  • Perform detailed load analysis, arc-flash studies, and short-circuit calculations using industry-standard engineering software (e.g., SKM or ETAP).
  • Partner with project managers, production teams, and field technicians to support the manufacturing, installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical products.
  • Assist in troubleshooting electrical issues related to switchgear, PDCs (Power Distribution Centers), VFD systems, and modular electrical housing.
  • Review customer technical documents and requirements to ensure alignment with QES capabilities and industry regulations.
  • Prepare essential engineering documentation, submittals, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and compliance records.
  • Participate in initiatives focused on continuously improving system performance, efficiency, and reliability.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Experience designing and developing complete medium-voltage electrical systems, including switchgear, protection schemes, distribution layouts, and control integrations.
  • Support the engineering team in designing low and high-voltage components.
  • Prepare technical drawings, specifications, diagrams, and calculations adhering to NEC, NFPA, and UL standards.
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues related to the designed systems.
