Construction laborers perform physically demanding tasks on construction sites, including using tools, moving materials, and cleaning up work areas. They may also assist other construction workers and operate some equipment. The job can be physically demanding, requiring work in various weather conditions, and involves using hand and power tools.
Key Responsibilities: Material Handling: Loading, unloading, and moving construction materials (e.g., lumber, bricks, concrete).
Site Preparation: Cleaning and preparing construction sites, digging trenches, and erecting scaffolding.
Tool Operation: Using hand and power tools like, nail guns, hammers, saws, and cement mixers.* Must have experience with safe tool handling
Assisting Trades: Helping other construction workers (carpenters, plumbers, etc.) with their tasks.
Demolition: Removing old structures or materials as part of a demolition project.
Safety Compliance: Following safety procedures and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Site Cleanup: Maintaining a clean and organized work area, removing debris and waste.
Work Environment:
Physical Demand: The work is physically demanding, requiring strength, stamina, and the ability to lift and carry heavy objects.* Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
Weather Conditions: Laborers may work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Safety Concerns: Construction sites can be hazardous, with potential risks of injury from falling objects, equipment, or hazardous materials.
Work in Rhode Island: must have a valid drivers license
